Spring break 2013

We went skiing at snowbird for spring break.
We rented our ski's the night before.
Hannah went to ski school all day. She learned a ton and had a great day!
Katie and I at the beginning of the day.  It was warm outside... 60 degrees.

Unfortunately Annie had an accident.  She ran into a tree, the ski patrol was called and she road down the mountain in the ski patron sled.  Quite scary... I didn't know until later when the medical center called me on my phone.

This was taken at the top of the mountain, when all of us were safe and sound.

Hannah's class was over at 3:00pm.  She had a great day!
Annie at the top of the mountain before she lost control and hit the tree.
Here is the men or the advanced ski team.

The next day we went to the BYU creamery for lunch and ice cream!

The next evening we went to the SLC cemetery on the hill behind the SL Temple.  Hannah asked Aunt Catherine to show her where she was going to be buried.  Such a funny girl. So along with Catherines plot we found a whole lot of prophets.
The beautiful temple all lit up.
The old Provo college being constructed into the new Provo Temple.
Driving home the Arizona sunset!  You can't beat our sunsets!

Mesa Arizona Temple

Katie went through the Temple on February 21, 2013.  We went through the 5:30 session.  She had so much support from family and some good friends.  It was a beautiful evening.  One child has made it to the temple, 3 more to go!

The field trip to the farm!

The kindergartener's went to a dairy farm for a field trip.  I thought it was quite funny we pay $12 to give children the farm experience! People today don't live on farms and take care of animals. Most of the children were nervous to touch the animals. Some let the animals eat out of their hands. All the children had a great time.

They were all comfortable with the soft, cute bunny.
These animals were very comfortable with all the children.  The dairy has field trips everyday. They ate oats right out of their hands. It has been a fun year.  I have been in the classroom and all the field trips with my 2 elementary age girls.  I am enjoying this new stage of life.

Phoenix Marathon/March 1, 2013

I signed up for the Phx 1/2 marathon in October.  Wanted some motivation to start running long distance again. In November I got bronchitis and was sick for a long time.  December wasn't much better.  January I signed up for boot camp at Discovery Park at 5:30am.  Talk about an intense hour of exercise.  Before boot camp each morning we run 1 mile then boot camp begins.  So January and February the most I ever ran at one time was 1 mile.  So on March 1st, I was wondering how well I would run 13.1 miles.  The best part about the run was it was in my Mesa neighborhood.  I ran by my high school,  where I received my patriarchal blessing, my church on brown road, the salon where I used to get a spiral perm on my long hair, my first bank, high school friends houses, etc.  Before I new it I was at mile 6 and half way done.  I sent Grant a text saying... "I am cruising, at mile 6.. better come soon". I felt really good until mile 12.  Then the last 1.1 miles I talked to myself... Just a little farther, don't stop, you can do hard things, this is where you show what you are made of.  I ran across the finish line very proud of myself. 2 hours 37 minutes.  I am not a fast runner!  But I finished 13.1 miles!

Katie's mission call has come

Katie's mission call has come.  We are opening it February 19, 2013 at 5:30pm.

We are all so excited to open this envelope!

Grandma Dayley with Katie
What a beautiful experience! Our house was full of friends and family! We had everyone make guesses to where she was going.  No one guessed it.  She is going the Montevideo, Uruguay!  She will be speaking Spanish, reporting the the Argentina MTC on July 4, 2013.  It was such a fun night.  The spirit was so strong.  I love this feeling.

Presidents Day in Florence, AZ

FHE

We have found the Family Home Evening treat spot! The ice cream shop is in the Bashas grocery store shopping center on Elliot and Higley. They sell Thrifty Ice cream cones... .99cents for a scoop of ice cream for family night. I have such great memories! My brother, sister and I would ride our bikes to Thrifty store on McKellips and Gilbert Rd and order a triple scoop cone! Just for fun! I wish I would have enjoyed that ice cream cone even more because I could never be able to do that these days.
Cute girls eating there single scoop cones!
