Coon Family Reunion 2010

Each night we had activities. Sunday night we had a talent show and dinner at Kelli's home. Some of the talents were piano, singing, card tricks, ballerina toes, cart wheels, jokes, whistling, stomach rolls, and story telling. Monday night we had skits. Each family did a skit. Rob and Niki's family made up a song about each aunt or uncle and their funny traits. It was cute.
Grant and Jill's family showed their talent for spitting and catching it in the bowl.

Ron and Debbie acted out a little old lady in need of help from a boy scout.

David and Kelli's family pretended to sit on an invisible bench only to have it moved somewhere else.
Marti and Laurie's family did a ballerina dance and showed off their flexibility and skills. Marty looks so cute with a bow in his hair.
James, Gloria and Hannah at the talent show.
Abby and Annie our cute #3 girls.
Grandpa played the piano at the talent show. He is always a kick with his musical talents!

Love this picture of Katie and Rebecca. Rebecca is at the University of Utah and so is her twin sister Rachael. Rachael had to work most of the week so I did not get many pictures. We missed her.

Service Project for the family!

Grant's oldest sister, Brenda was in need of some help. Her husband passed away 13 years ago this summer. So for our reunion this year we planned a service reunion. We put a new roof on her home and painted the exterior. Unfortunately I did not get any pictures of the guys working on the roof. But I did snap a few of everyone working to get the house ready for paint.
While on the roof one of the men put their foot through the ceiling and made a nice whole in the kitchen. Which we did repair.
Just starting the painting day.
Hannah and Gloria keeping themselves busy while everyone worked. Hannah reading the Gloria, so precious.
Alice, Katie and James busy at work.
Rob and Dad getting the paint mixed and ready to spray.
Katie scraping old paint.
Laurie Tietjen, Grants sister.
This was the whole gang. We worked hard and finished painting the whole house in 1 day. A quote from Grandma Coon, "Many hands make light work". The is what happened all week with laying a new roof and painting.

The whole family hiked Donut Falls today. The tradition is each family brings donuts to eat at Donut falls in the Big Cottonwood Canyon. As you can see James is missing... he went fishing with his Grandpa Coon, Uncle Marty, Jay, Joe, and Ryan Coon.

Lagoon July 8, 2010

James and Katie are great friends.
The 2 Katie's, only 6 months apart. They are quite a pair. Katie T is funny and always making Katie Lu laugh all day long. Love both these girls.

Thursday, July 8, 2010, FAMILY REUNION!

Thursday we took the little girls to "Snow bird" up little Cottonwood Canyon in SLC. Katie and James went to Lagoon with the older cousins. We had a picnic on the mountain. It was so lovely outside, perfect weather! We made friends with some chipmunks who were very friendly and wanted our food. I gave me an apple core which they fought over and yelled at each other. Quite funny. Here is one of the chipmunks eating a pinto bean!
Grant and Hannah zooming down the alpine slide.
Annie and Abby Coon taking the ski lift to the top of the mountain.
Here is the whole gang.
There was all kinds of fun. The age limit for riding the bull was 7 years. Hannah sat for a picture and thought she had really rode on the bull.
Annie rode the bull a ton and laughed the whole time.

What a cutie!
Look at those green beautiful mountains. The canyons were perfect I wanted to sing "the hills are alive with the sound of music" from Sound of music.

Annie was quite good and doing flips.
Hannah loved doing jump splits.

San Francisco Anniversary trip!!!

We walked for 30 minutes trying to find a Chinese restaurant to eat lunch at.
The fisherman's wharf was beautiful. The fruit markets on the board walk were full of beautiful fresh fruit and veggies!
We ate Breakfast in the Italian market area. I can't remember the name of the restaurant. But they drew us in with all the bake pastries in the window. I had the most scruptous breakfast: greek yogurt with fresh fruit and homemade granola. Every bite was so delicious!

We rented bike and rode literally all over the city! The golden gate bridge is in the distance. We rode across the bridge and took the ferry back to the main land. I wanted to exercise the whole weekend. Which is exactly what we did.

Ferry ride back!

Friday night we went to "Wicked" That is one fun play!

Lombard street!
We rode our bike down Lombard street, it was so steep!

This is one of my favorite pictures. We were eating at a little cafe'. I had my yogurt/granola/fruit bowl again. It was that delicious!

Trolley ride across town.
Grant and I went to San Francisco for 3 days. We enjoyed the long weekend, that went quite fast! We did so much... enjoyed rain, sunshine and 70 degree weather, bike riding across the Golden Gate bridge, bike riding all over San Francisco (30miles). China town (now that I have been to China I don't care to go back). The Italian Market, which I loved and can't wait to go to Italy with the Summers family in a couple of years! Wicked at the Orpheam Theatre! Overall it was a dreamy 3 days with the man I love.
